A TERRIFIED woman screamed for help as she was punched and pushed to the ground by an attacker who struck near a block of flats in Worcester.
After hearing her screams for help, a man from a block of flats across the road shouted out and the attacker ran off in the direction of Barbourne Road.
The victim had bruising and grazes as a result of the attack which took place while she was walking down Brook Street, in the Barboune area of the city just before 1am on Friday, November 2.
The woman, who is described as small, was wearing a sheepskin coat when she was subjected to what police believe to be a motiveless attack.
Her attacker is described as a white male, 5ft 9ins to 6ft tall, wearing a dark hooded top with the hood pulled up.
He is believed to be in his early 20's, of slim build, clean-shaven with short blond hair.
"We would like to hear from anyone with information about the attack and we are particularly keen to hear from the man who shouted from the flats opposite," said PC Tony Stead, one of the investigating officers.
Police investigating the incident do not know the motive for the attack and want anyone with information to contact them on 01905 723888 quoting c/529687.
