BROMSGROVE Rovers clinched a 1-0 win in their Midland Alliance League match at Wednesfield.
Sam Bowen created Rovers first real sight on goal, but he lost his footing as he shot sending the ball well wide in the 25th minute.
The deadlock was broken in the 40th minute when Bowen was upended in the box by Dave Wallace.
Bowen picked up the ball, placed it on the spot and squeezed it past Kauldip Paul in the Wednesfield goal for his 13th league goal of the season.
In the 53rd minute the Cottagers playmaker Zahoor Suliman hit the inside of the post from a free kick. Akbar Ali followed up but blazed the rebound well wide of the far post.
Rovers had a glorious chance to wrap the game up in the 86th minute. Michael Moore, who had replaced Stuart Payne five minutes earlier, played a delightful ball into Shaun Derry who shot wide with only the keeper to beat.
