POLICE investigating the death of a woman killed on a Malvern railway line believe they know her identity.
But Sgt Ken Gaull, of the British Transport Police, said formal identification still needed to take place.
The woman was hit by the 5.55am Hereford-London Paddington service as it travelled between Ledbury and Colwall at 6.20am yesterday.
Sgt Gaull confirmed the incident was not being treated as suspicious but added that information was still being gathered into the death.
Elaine Wilde, spokeswoman for Great Western Trains, said the driver had been "extremely shocked" by the incident and had been relieved of his duties.
