DEPRESSED Roger Hill hanged himself from a curtain cord leaving two care workers at his sheltered home to find his lifeless body.

Worcestershire coroner Victor Round said 54-year-old Mr Hill was a resident at Dickinson Court, Wordsworth Avenue, Worcester.

The housing scheme is run by Headway, the brain injury charity.

The labourer had a history of depression, an inquest in Stourbridge heard yesterday.

Care worker Sharon Whitmarsh last saw Mr Hill alive on Monday, October 15.

"Staff at the hospital who were dealing with his medication couldn't contact him," Mr Round said.

"They raised the alarm with staff at the accommodation where he lived.

"Worker Toni Brown went to look for him. She, together with Sharon, made the discovery. They found him hanging by his neck from a curtain pull cord."

But despite extensive checks, the pair could find no suicide note.

There were no packets of pills in the room or any other indication that he was about to kill himself, Mr Round added.

"There was nothing remarkable when Sharon last saw him alive and no real cause for alarm," he said.

Mr Round recorded a verdict that Mr Hill took his own life.
