MY wife and I were passing the Guildhall recently when we overheard a party of Welsh people remarking on the architecture and beauty of this building.
But they seemed disgusted to see the bare flagpole and I am afraid we had to agree with them.
The country is at war and our young soldiers will soon be going into battle on the ground. Some of them may not come home. We should be flying the national flag on all council buildings and businesses in this Faithful City in support of these young men.
We do not believe the flag mentioned was flying at half-mast on or after the atrocity of September 11 when the death toll included hundreds of English people. If this is true it is a disgrace - is it the same old excuse, short of money?
It is almost impossible to purchase a Union Jack in any of the local shops. Come on Worcester, let's follow America's patriotic example and be proud of our country.
