DROITWICH Hockey Club's men secured their first win of the DTZ Midlands Division One West League with a win at Birmingham-based Yardley.
Droitwich took the offensive and scored early in the first half when Pete Jones flicked in a rebound from a penalty corner.
The home team equalised from a corner, but Spa regained the lead when Nick Bates made sure a goal-bound effort from Garath Thomas went in.
Again the home team brought the scores level after a solo run and conversion from midfield.
Droitwich regained the lead just before the break when Liam Hine scored a lovely reverse stick shot which left the visitors' keeper routed to his spot.
After the break it was honours even, but Spa scored the winner from a penalty corner through Nick Bates, who ended the day on a brace.
