A COMMUNITY-spirited student is to receive a prestigious royal award at a presentation next week.
Brett Woodhouse, aged 19, from Humphrey Avenue, Charford, Bromsgrove, will receive The Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award at a celebratory event in London next Wednesday, November 14.
The former South Bromsgrove High School pupil will join 400 other youngsters at St James' Palace where Prince Philip will make the presentations.
Brett completed over 18 months of hard work to achieve the award including an expedition to Snowdonia, in Wales, and time spent in Devon working for the National Trust.
