Pershore 1, Kynoch 3
PERSHORE'S latest DTZ league fixture was against Kynoch at the Nunnery Wood Astro.
Pershore made a typically slow start conceding an early penalty stroke which was converted despite an outstanding star-jumping attempt by newly recruited Ben Wright in goal.
Pershore quickly equalised through a close-range shot by Rushton following one of the moves of the match in which the hosts strung together several passes before earning a free hit just outside the circle. This was well converted from close- range.
At the start of the second half both sides were warned about their conduct in the game despite this being one of the friendliest games of the season to date!
Pershore were camped in the Kynoch half for the first 15 minutes but conceded a breakaway goal as they pushed for the lead.
With time running out Pers-hore continued to push determined to grab a deserved equaliser but in doing so left themselves short at the back.
During one of these attacks Hawkes passed the ball with unerring accuracy straight to the Kynoch centre forward.
Maz, with surprising pace, saw the danger and attempted to slow the attack but only managed to give a second flick away which Kynoch converted.
Pershore were left disappointed from another defeat and will have to learn to take their chances and convert short corners if things are to improve.
They travel to Stafford on Saturday when they will be hoping for a similar performance but a welcome change of fortune against strong opposition.
