CAF culture is set to hit Cleobury Mortimer.
Four teenage students from Lacon Childe School are behind a plan to set up a youth caf for youngsters.
Gavin Bache, George Bills and Mike Wiffin, all 13, and Andrew Sant, 14, started working on the scheme as part of a "lifestyle" project in the summer holidays.
They are now awaiting the result of a lottery funding application.
Andrew, of Furlongs Road, said: "We have found a venue we like but we think we will need anything from £6,000 to £16,000 to set up and run the caf for about two years, before it makes a profit."
Councillor Adrian Pearce, chairman of Cleobury Mortimer Parish Council, has welcomed the initiative.
He said: "I think it's a great idea, especially as the youngsters are doing it for themselves.
"If they ask the parish councils for support they will get it. Youth activities are one of the main concerns for small communities".
The group got involved with the idea because of the dearth of leisure time opportunities for the youth.
Andrew said: "If you hang out at school you get chucked out. If you go into pubs to play pool they chuck you out.
"We need somewhere to hang out without adults being able to shout at us."
The caf will be run by the young people, but with a rota of adults on hand to help if problems arise.
The boys have planned fund-raising events including a bike ride and walk.
Anyone interested in helping should call Andrew on 01299 271554.
