PARISH Music continues its successful series with a concert in St John's Church, Beckford, on November 17 (8pm).
Matthew Elston, violin, with Angus Meryon, clarinet, and the Quadrifidus String Quartet String Quartet return to the church to play Mozart's Clarinet Quintet and Schubert's Death and the Maiden Quartet, two of the most popular works from the chamber music repertory.
Matthew, originally from Bishops Cleeve, led the Gloucestershire Youth Orchestra and the Cotswold Symphony Orchestra before attending the Royal College of Music.
He is touring Japan with the English Chamber Orchestra and is joined by other college graduates for this concert.
Angus Merton, clarinet, has performed widely since graduating from the Royal College.
The last Parish Music concert before Christmas will be a charity event in St Barbara's, Ashton-under-Hill, on December 2 (8pm). It will be given by Il Piccolo Coro, a Stroud chamber choir, together with readings by Hexagon Theatre Company.
Further details are available in a brochure from Julian Alington on 01386 882060.
All concerts start at 8pm and cost £5 on the door - students free.
