SWIMMING: Chris Holmes and world record-breaking Claire Cashmore were among the swimmers shining at Disability Sport England's most successful BT National Short Course Championships.
Paralympic star Holmes, who hails from Kidderminster but competes in London, took five golds and a silver.
The partially sighted swimming ace won the 100m freestyle and individual medley and the breaststroke, backstroke and freestyle at 50m distance.
Versatile Holmes added a silver in the 50m butterfly in the S12 group.
Talented Kidderminster-based Cashmore, 13, broke world records in the 50m butterfly and 100m individual medley in her S9 disability group.
Swimming against all ages, the prolific Cashmore added a gold in the 50m freestyle, silver in the 100m freestyle and bronzes in the 50m and 100m breaststroke and freestyle relay.
A member of Wyre Forest Swimming Club, it is hoped her record times will be ratified and accepted by the ASA.
Cashmore is also bidding to represent England in the Commonwealth Games next year in Manchester.
