HOCKEY: A thrilling 5-3 success over North Staffordshire kept Kidderminster Boundary firsts unbeaten and top of the DTZ League Midlands One.
Man-of-the-match Chris Page not only held the defence together in an excellent display but also scored one of the goals.
Other goals were scored by Mark and Richard Wheeler plus a double from Adam Robson as Kidderminster secured their fourth win of the season with a good team display.
North Staffordshire, lying second in the league, played well at times but the Kidderminster defence mainly held firm.
Mark Bagley and Mark Baldwin are proving good acquisitions for Kidderminster who should stay top if they keep this standard up.
Kings Heath 3 Kidderminster 2nds 2
The seconds produced their best performance of the season but still managed to lose.
Paul Grummitt levelled an early Kings Heath opener and Rupert Upshon put them ahead before half-time.
But two late goals helped Kings Heath steal the victory.
Kidderminster 3rds 2 Old Sillians 4
The town went behind early in the fixture and were 2-0 down after 20 minutes.
Piers Whitehouse pulled one back with a penalty flick and Chris Brazier levelled midway through the second half.
However, two strikes in the latter stages of the clash gave the visitors victory.
Telford & Shifnall 3
Kidderminster 4ths 6
The fourths rushed to an early three-goal lead through Paul Rhodes from close range and a Keith Burgess double.
Telford pulled a goal back before Rob Cookson restored the advantage and Rhodes made it 5-1.
The home side scored twice more but Stuart Mol's goal put the result beyond doubt.
Kidderminster 5ths 0 Stourport 6ths 2
Frank Colwill was the two-goal hero for Stourport in the first half of Saturday's local derby.
There were goal-scoring chances at both ends but it was the Stourport centre-forward who latched on to two good through-balls and finished well.
After the break, both teams continued to create openings but the two goalkeepers held firm.
Kidderminster Ladies 0 Camp Hill 3
The home side fell behind just before half-time and were 3-0 down early in the second period.
Continued pressure from Kidderminster failed to change the score.
