ATHLETICS: Kidderminster and Stourport Athletic Club's youngsters did Wyre Forest proud with great results at the Reebok Cross Challenge in Birmingham.
The U-15 girls team were crowned champions in the 3km event, while the U-13 boys finished second.
Fay Kitchen (10th, 13 minutes 23 seconds), Alison Young (20, 13-55), Liz Dourneen (26, 14-03) and Laura Easton (50, 15-07) were the successful girls.
In the boys team were Simon Rudd (10, 13-15), Tom Sivell (22, 13-50), Aiden Dourneen (30, 14-15), Louis Benton (37, 14-32), Jake Egginton (46, 14-59) and Alistair Ruddick (63,16-28).
Adam Grainger was 68th in the U-15 boys in 14-26, while Matt Grainger took part in the U-17 event.
Meanwhile, Liz Gould was first lady over-35 and 12th overall in the Cobra classic 10km multi-terrain event at Halesowen in 46-40.
Colette Maynard was second lady over-35 in 50-08 and Louise Littlewood was the sixth lady to finish in 53-0. The performance earned the ladies' team prize.
In the finals of the National Road Relays, the men's team came 37th out of 60 in the men's six-stage relay.
Tom Kenderdine took the first leg in 19-26, followed by Steve Smith (19-21), Matt Vaux-Harvey (17-19), Steve Poulton (19-48), Kevin Green (20-38) and Dave Hall (19-51).
In the ladies four-stage event, the club team came 54th, being represented by Maynard (17-27), Gould (16-03), Littlewood (18-42) and Nicki Harris (18-50).
M Grainger finished the U-17 men's race in 12-59.
The A team finished 15th in the U-15 girls' league through Kitchen (8-40), Young (8-55) and L Dourneen (9-13), winning the team silver medals.
The U-15 B girls' team comprised Laura Easton (10-16), Claire Cashmore (9-43) and Heidi Jarosinksi (11-08).
A Dourneen recorded 9-04, James Humphries 9-16 and Benton 9-19, giving the U-13 boys' team 24th place.
For the U-13 girls' team, Charlotte James ran in 9-29, Kera Bennett 10-34 and Holly Lockwood 13-15.
Last month, the U-15 girls competed in the Midland Women's Cross Country League where Kitchen came fifth, L Dourneen eighth, Easton 10th and Cashmore 29th, winning silver medals in the Sally Lunn Shield.
Bennett came 40th and James 42nd for the U-13 girls.
Gary Bonner ran a personal best in the Stroud Half Marathon with a time of one hour 23-40.
