TENNIS: Stourport have made a mixed start to the Winter League programme with a selection of wins, draws and losses.
The Men's A team in Division One were beaten 3-1 by Droitwich.
Rob and Derek Tarpey won a match but also lost one, while Chris Nuttall and Carl Rogers were beaten twice.
The team drew 2-2 with Worcester when Steve Newbury and Dave Grainger won two matches but this time the Tarpeys slipped up.
However, the Men's B beat Worcester 3-1 in Division Two with Nuttall and Rogers winning two matches and Martin Bradley partnering D Tarpey to one victory and a defeat.
In Division Five East, the Men's C team beat Droitwich 3-1.
Graham Ashmore and Nick Mantle won two, while Paul Cooper and Andy Southall won one and lost one.
The Ladies A were beaten 3-1 by Worcester as Hilary Hatt and Carole Lewis were the only winners.
But the duo also lost a match with Rhian Robinson and Lindsay Breech-Wilson unlucky in both their matches.
The Ladies B lost 4-0 to Abbey Stadium with both pairings, Isobel Moore and Breech-Wilson and Hilary Kirby and Wendy King, falling.
The ladies then went on to draw 2-2 with Pershore.
Zena Freer partnered Breech-Wilson to two victories but Kirby and Fiona Skidmore lost.
