Evesham Utd Jnrs U-13 3,
Alcester Ath 1
LEAGUE leaders Alcester saw their two-year unbeaten record come to an end last Saturday.
Both sides spurned good chances in a pulsating opening period but Daniel Hackling wasn't so wasteful when firing United ahead after ten minutes.
Ashley Burman's fine diving stop prevented an equaliser before Chris Stringer doubled Evesham's lead.
Athletic's pressure finally paid off in the second half as they made it 2-1 and, only a crucial goalline clearance by Michael Walters, kept United in front.
Home nerves were settled a minute from time when Alfie Lavery skipped past two players before firing a left-footer into the net.
Norton Rgrs U-14 11, Welland 1
RANGERS returned to winning ways while also maintaining top spot in the Mercian Elgar League.
Two goals in the opening five minutes set the Norton lads well on their way to a seventh win in eight games. Luke Underwood and Matthew Williams were the scorers but Welland hit back to trim the deficit.
Midfielder James Muddiman was in fine form and he set up several goals as Rangers ran amok. Muddiman, himself, found the net after Tristan Buckley and Pete Stedman had made it 4-1.
Interval changes failed to halt the goal glut as Norton hit six more courtesy of a hat-trick from Scott Williams, two from Joe Mulrennan and probably the best goal of the game from Ashley Knight.
Right back Peter Marquis was named Norton's player of the match.
Evesham Utd U-9 4, Bredon 0
SOMETHING had to give when two sides with 100 per cent records clashed.
And, it was United who took the points after a brilliant team display brought a comfortable win.
It was a fierce and tense tussle in the first half when Michael Savage grabbed the only goal, making no mistake in a one on one situation with the Bredon keeper.
Olly Scarrot's strikes soon after the restart turned the game in United's favour after Bredon pressure and it was his two tremendous goals in as many minutes that ensured a home win.
David Thompson's late effort ended Bredon's resistance on a day when James Bearcroft was named player of the match.
Salford Rvrs U-13 2, Littleton Jnrs 3
SALFORD suffered their first defeat of the Mercian League campaign.
Ben Carter gave the visitors the lead after a frantic start but a fumble by the Littleton keeper allowed Mat Layton to level before half-time.
The home defence was under siege after the break and, despite sterling work from Tristan Gretton and player of the match Ryan Ellis, Steve McMeikan and Carter found the target to leave Rovers trailing.
A visibly rattled home side then took the initiative and excellent contributions from Josh Cocker, Ashley Wilkes and Jamie Coughlan helped set up a thrilling climax but a second goal from Layton wasn't enough to save a point.
Littleton U-9 6, Elmley Castle 2
A FIRST half hat-trick for Alex Trinder continued his run of triple hauls and that individual effort was followed by three second half goals from Craig Stanley, Liam Hundley and Kyle Brotherton.
Only a fine goalkeeping display from the Castle keeper and a series of missed chances prevented the score from being higher. Elmley replied through Oliver Wilks and Leigh Dawson.
Vale Wdrs U-11 0, Littleton 3
LITTLETON were made to battle all the way to earn the points in this exciting league match.
They dominated the early stages and were rewarded when Dan Keen's bullet header flew into the net from Ryan Clarke's corner.
This stung Vale into action and they stretched Littleton's defence on a number of occasions with Tom Waghorn and Tom McLaughlin both went close.
The second half was played in a similar vein with both sides going close before Matt Smith fired in a long-range effort that the keeper couldn't hold and Josh Craze scored the rebound.
Matt Goss then forced his way through the Vale defence before placing a lovely shot into the corner but Vale still continued to press and Sam Bastow made a miraculous triple save.
Broadway U-8 5, Badsey 4
BADSEY opened the scoring with a fine goal from Sam Ford but Broadway's pressure was rewarded when Tom Johnstone equalised.
The visitors regained the lead when Ford scored his second only for the home side to respond straight away through Luke McDonagh.
The visitors went ahead again through Tom Middleton but, just before half-time, Drew Clarke made it 3-3.
The second half saw Broadway exert more pressure and this was rewarded when a fine shot from Johnstone flew into the top corner.
A solo effort from McDonagh put Broadway two goals in front but Ford pulled one back for the visitors.
Drakes Broughton Rgrs U-11 2, Inkberrow 1
RANGERS hit the crossbar early on and Dan Lloyd was then thwarted by a fine save from the Inkberrow keeper.
Scott Matheson finally found the net after 15 minutes and it was 2-0 at the break when Nick Spalding's deflected shot found the net.
Inkberrow replied shortly after the restart but that was the end of the scoring as the woodwork was hit several times.
Evesham Utd U-8 3,
Drakes Broughton 0
UNITED met their toughest opposition so far this season as they set out to protect their unbeaten record.
The match was largely fought out in midfield during a goalless first half when neither goalkeeper had too much to do.
The second half, however, saw Evesham break down a resolute defence with a fine goal by Owen Jones.
Further strikes from Andrew Powell and James Schembri secured the points.
Peopleton U-8 1, Littleton A 7
LITTLETON again found the scoring touch as they achieved their highest tally of the season so far.
Playing some good attacking football Littleton went ahead after five minutes with a shot from Alexander Drew.
They looked to build on the lead and, after some good passing play, went further ahead with a goal from Jordan Cowley. Not disheartened, Peopleton played some good football but fell further behind when Wesley Burden made it 3-0.
The second half didn't bring a change of fortune for the hosts as two goals from Joe Nightingale increased Littleton's lead.
Peopleton pulled a goal back when a break from their own penalty area saw Stephen Redic convert a one on one with the Littleton keeper James Pomeroy but two well-taken goals from William Stevens reinforced Littleton's superiority.
Badsey Rgrs U-14 1, YMCA 3
HOPES of Rangers continuing their fine form were dashed when they conceded two goals in the first 15 minutes.
Sam Linley led the fightback with a superb scissors-kick to reduce the arrears but it was to be Badsey's solitary strike and a late goal sealed an away win.
Southside Reds 2,
Badsey Rgrs U-12 1
BADSEY suffered only their second loss of the season after failing to turn first half dominance into goals.
Southside led at the break but it was all-square three minutes after the restart when Adam Westmacott's fierce shot was parried into the path of Pete Heyes who pounced to score.
Badsey continued to pour forward but again chances went begging and they paid the ultimate price when a long clearance saw a home striker outpace the Badsey defence to fire in the winner.
Westmacott and Dave Clifton were voted joint players of the match.
Evesham Utd U-11 5, Carterton 0
UNITED moved to the top of the Witney League after a game they dominated from the first kick.
Lance Smith put them in front after a solo run and it wasn't long before Tom Adam Miles made it 2-0.
Jonathan Wein then chipped in a third before half-time after which Evesham had even more possession. Scott Andrews calmly slotted in a fourth and Wein scored his second and Evesham's fifth to take them to the top.
Alcester U-10 1, Campden Lions 8
CAMPDEN maintained their 100 per cent league record with another good performance on their travels.
Having withstood early pressure, the visitors broke away and Jack Proctor netted with a diving header.
The provider then scored twice to give Campden a healthy advantage that Fred Rawlings and Aris Alexious added to before the break.
It was 6-1 soon after the restart when Jamie Johnstone scored, while Godson completed his first ever hat-trick with a 15-yard free-kick that flew into the net.
Alcester never gave up and their reward was late penalty although Campden had the final say when Tom Oberst netted his first of the season.
