CLEOBURY Mortimer staged a seconds home game at last but lost 36-22 to visitors Stourbridge fourths.
They were confident of extending their scoring spree yet came up against a big, powerful side.
Stourbridge asserted their authority early on with two converted tries but pride took over for the home side.
Quick recycling of possession allowed a transfer of ball along the backs for winger Richard Skidmore to create the overlap in the right corner.
Cleobury were more confident but Stourbridge increased the half-time scoreline to 26-5 by taking advantage of slack tackling.
Determined Cleobury put together an excellent move for a senior debut try from Sam Jones.
Though Stourbridge responded with another score, Dan Bills then squirmed over from two metres.
Another effort from the visitors was equalled by Skidmore's break and touch down and then capped with fly-half Nigel Williams' conversion.

The new youth team lost a bad-tempered clash but are improving steadily with another good display.
They were reduced to 14 players at one point in the second half in a game that featured several flare-ups.
Fly-half James Manley put Cleobury on the scoresheet with a try and conversion as Telford led 15-7 at the interval.
Number eight Ian Harrington capped a fine display with a try later on which Manley again converted.
