STRAY golf balls are not a big problem around a Bewdley course, staff have insisted.
Bewdley town councillor Paul Gittins raised concerns after a driver complained a ball hit her windscreen in Habberley Road.
He also received reports of balls landing on the footpath at the entrance to Habberley Valley.
But a spokesman for Bewdley Pines Golf Club said the woman driver had been unlucky and such instances were rare.
Golfers using the course are insured and the driver would have been compensated had she raised the issue with the club at the time of the incident, he added.
There was "definitely not a problem" with stray balls and if there was the club would look to take action such as putting up nets.
Mr Gittins had received a handful of complaints and said the club might need to move greens.
