On October 24 the president, dressed as Queen Victoria, welcomed members to Far Forest Village Hall with her suitably attired "servants" waiting to look after visitors.
Vicky Coglan brought items from the county craft loan collection and the county banner showing group entries.
The guest speaker was Simon Chorley, an auctioneer from Cheltenham who talked about Ronald Ernest Summerfields' Lifetime of Treasures.
From an early age Mr Summerfield was an avid collector of anything interesting, attending sales at the age of 12 and selling in a corner of his mothers' hardware shop in Cheltenham. When he decided to sell up Simon was asked to arrange the sale, but Mr Summerfield died before completion. The treasures were catalogued, and stored in barns and a warehouse until the lots were sold, the money being bequeathed to a charitable trust.
The next group meeting will be at Heightington on April 23 when there will be a talk on Taking a Whimsical Look at the National Trust.
