This group of mainly retired people gather s at Wribbenhall Community Centre on the third and fourth Wednesday of every month to listen to recordings made by the bands of Glenn Miller, Ted Heath, Count Basie and Harry James - to name just a few.
The meetings begin at 2pm and run until approximately 4.45pm, and usually the presenters are members of the society, though occasionally there are guest presenters.
The programmes generally cover big band music from the 1930s until the present day.
At one of the meetings before Christmas, there will be a change from the usual musical format - instead, members will play skittles!
For details of this society telephone Vic Davies on 01299 825294.
