A REFUSE collector was taken to the Alexandra Hospital with minor head, leg and arm injuries after being in collision with a van at about 9.40am on Thursday.
The 22 year old was working along Mount Pleasant when he was knocked to the floor in the collision with a red H registered Bedford van.
The woman van driver did stop and police said they believe she saw the man stand up but then drove off towards Evesham Road.
Pc Simon Carpenter, of Redditch police, said: "This man was wearing a fluorescent vest and was about to cross the road at the same time of the collision."
He added: "Although officers have located the vehicle and driver of the van, we are still appealing for witnesses that were in and around the area to come forward.
"It was shortly after rush hour and parents may have been returning from schools nearby or people may just have left their homes to go shopping."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pc Carpenter at Redditch police on 584888.
