REDDITCH Victim Support and the Oasis Christian Centre are among five organisations seeking about £10,500 from Redditch Council.
The town branch of Victim Support, which helps Redditch people who have suffered as a result of crime, has applied for a £940 grant to buy personal alarms and pay for literature to be produced for the Asian community.
The Oasis Christian Centre, affiliated to the Elim Pentecostal Church, has applied for £4,960 for disabled toilets to be provided and a ramp to be built at the centre.
Other groups applying for Redditch Council grants include Winyates Green Senior Citizens Club, which has requested £300 to hire a coach to take members on a Christmas shopping trip and tour of Telford, and the Reddishare Group.
The Reddishare Group provides leisure activities for elderly and handicapped people living in the town and is seeking £550 for outings and entertainment, including a Christmas pantomime and riverboat cruise.
Futebol de salao, which is affiliated to the Brazilian Soccer School, has also applied for £3,713 for a team kit and equipment.
The organisation has been operating for a year and aims to help British children play football Brazilian-style.
Redditch Council's amenities committee was due to discuss the applications yesterday.
