REDDITCH police officers will be going Dutch today to share ideas and information with counterparts from Holland.
Police from Brabunt Zuid-Oost have shown an interest in sector policing and have chosen Redditch as an example of good working practice.
The officers will be looking at the work between the response team, which deals with emergency calls, and the sector officers which were introduced across Redditch in April 1999.
Redditch police operations manager Chief Insp Ian Browning said: "They have come to Redditch on a fact-finding mission and we are pleased they feel they can learn something useful from us to take back to Holland.
"At the same time, we will be taking the opportunity to learn from their experiences."
The team of six Dutch officers will be spending three days with West Mercia Constabulary.
Chief Insp Browning said: "Essentially the officers have come here to find out about the management methods we currently have in place and we shall be holding presentations throughout the day.
"It will be interesting to learn about how another country deals with crime and community policing.
"We have something in common, particularly as both forces believe in working with the community.
"Partnership involvement is crucial for both of us to help improve the quality of life for the law abiding people we police on a daily basis."
