THE evening was very moonlit, but there were no witches or ghosts to be found at the Hallowe'en dance held at the village hall on Friday, November 2. Whether spirits were present is debatable! About 100 people attended and danced to the music of Night Ride, who played a wide variety of music. The vocalist, Peter May, if I remember correctly, used to sing with the Bill Hartland Orchestra and Peter Tilley in years gone by at Cheltenham Town Hall. It was nice to meet Peter again and listen to his lovely distinctive voice. The guests were served a ham and salad supper prepared by members of the village hall committee, and a raffle was held. All profits go to the hall fund. The next dance will be held on New Year's Eve, this is always a sell out and many tickets are already reserved, an excellent event and very reasonably priced at £15 per ticket.
