THE acclaimed Richard Alston Dance Company will be returning to the Malvern Theatres to perform its new programme of classically-inspired routines.
Water Music, danced to the famous suite by Handel, is a project cherished by the choreographer after discovering Jordi Savall's robust and vigorous interpretation.
Soda Lake, a classic Alston work from 1981 follows, conjuring up the stillness and shimmering heat of the Nevada desert. Alert and watchful, a single dancer paces out her territory against the minimal lines of Nigel Hall's sculpture.
The final two dances are Lachrymae, set to the music of Benjamin Britten, and Strange Company, accompanied by virutuoso pianist Jason Ridgway.
Showing in the Forum Theatre on Thursday and Friday, November 15 and 16, at 7.30pm, tickets are £10 and £8 (£6 students) from 01684 892277 or www.malvern-theatres.co.uk
