PLANS for a transport service for disadvantaged and disabled people in Upton-upon-Severn have been shelved after the last £8,000 of funding could not be found.
Malvern Hills Rural Transport Partnership has £20,000 to spend on a "dial-a-ride" service, but needs to find another source of funding to get the scheme off the ground.
"We had originally hoped Malvern Hills District Council might be able to help with the funding, but their budget is extremely tight at the moment," said Grenville Sheringham, rural transport partnership officer.
"We are continuing to search, because at the moment there is very little transport of this kind in and around Upton."
