A FLOOD defence fair held at Upton-upon-Severn Memorial Hall on Saturday has been hailed a success by organisers.
The event was an opportunity for companies to showcase products devised to combat flooding.
They included a "skirt" which can be installed along the foot of house's outer walls, and unfurled to protect it from rising waters.
Flood bags, plastic bags sealed with drawstrings large enough to contain items of furniture, which will then float, were also on sale.
Dave Walker, of Upton Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA), which organised the event, said he had been congratulated by exhibitors.
"They said it was one of the best organised events of its kind," he said.
"Even though we have never done anything like that before, we have a good team of organisers here at SARA."
West Worcestershire MP Sir Michael Spicer, who visited the exhibition, said he was "very impressed" with the array of devices on display.
SARA, which charged exhibitors to show their wares, is still counting cash raised and waiting for cheques to arrive.
