Remembrance Day when we remember those whom we have lost, especially those who have died in war.
There is for many, perhaps, a mixture of wonderful memories and the pain of parting. When this parting has been sudden, unexpected or violent we might find it particularly difficult to reconcile ourselves to our loss.
This is probably why we need a place in the year to remember.
War still brings suffering and loss into this world. People the world over are grieving the loss of loved ones. We also need to remember them at this time.
As we remember all who have lost their lives in wartime, we have the opportunity to remember the only one who has given his life for us all.
In Jesus Christ we find the one who is able to help and comfort us. The one who is able to heal us and our world through his death on the cross and his resurrection to life.
The Rev. Anthony Pettit, Curate, Great Malvern Priory.
