A MASSIVE £1,178 was raised to help suffering rural communities during a Farmers' Supper in Guarlford on October 26.
A main course of casserole and mashed potatoes was made with donations from Malvern Country Meals, P. Phipps of Hanley Swan, Waitrose and Safeway. Ice cream, apple pies and cheeses came from Bennetts, Somerfield and many local people.
There was also a raffle, tombola and auction on the night, which helped raise the total.
The event was organised by the Guarlford and District Farmer's Support Group, which was formed during the foot and mouth outbreak to raise money for the Addington Fund.
In total, it has raised £1,689 for beleaguered farmers and others hit by the outbreak.
Rosemary McCulloch, secretary of the group, said: "I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped with the preparations, all those who cooked the supper, and everyone who came to eat it and support the Addington Fund."
