Lady Mary Lygon reached Madresfield on Monday after an absence of many months, during which she accompanied the Duchess of Cornwall as lady-in-waiting on her Colonial tour. Her ladyship received a hearty reception from the villagers and the bells of the church rang out a merry peal. Malvern Gazette, November 8, 1901.
Last week, Ledbury was visited by a gentleman who had covered a considerable distance before he reached our little town. He was interviewed by one of our representatives, who elicited the following information: "My name is Reggio Salvatore; I am Italian, and I am walking round the world to gain a wager of 20,000 dollars. I started from Palermo and I have walked all through Spain and France." Ledbury Free Press, November 12, 1901.

A Garden of Remembrance - the first of its kind in Malvern - adjoining the bus shelter at Barnards Green is to be dedicated by the chaplain of Barnards Green Royal British Legion (Rev H J Freiensener, Vicar of Christ Church), at a brief ceremony at 10am tomorrow. Malvern Gazette, November 9, 1951.
THE achievements of the Ledbury Amateur Dramatic Society go from strength to strength. Its latest production, George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion, last week at the Camp Theatre was a further proof that this band of amateurs is not merely seeking to pass the time pleasantly, but they take their job seriously of entertaining the public. Sales of their first ever LP should bring a German holiday and concert tour that much nearer for members of Malvern Chase High School Band. On Saturday the band went into the recording studio and cut the LP, which will contain ten tracks ranging from light classical to popular and boogie. Malvern Gazette, November 11, 1976.
After over 100 years as a doctor's surgery, The Steppes in New Street, Ledbury, is giving up its practice. In January, the three doctors at present working there are leaving the property, which is now up for sale, and moving to the rear of St Katherine's, behind the Malvern Hills District Council Office.
