POWICK travelled to Worcester to play Oak Apple in this Nursing Cup quarter final and had to change outside as the home side did not turn up until 30 minutes before kick-off.
OAK APPLE 3, POWICK 4
Powick started to settle down to their good passing game and in the 26th minute were rewarded with a goal when Nick Pullen put Dave Buckley through to slot the ball past the outcoming keeper. From the kick off Powick regained the ball and Mark Hawkesworth crossed for James Gommersall to volley into the net for a 2-0 lead for Powick.
In the 32nd minute Powick's Luke Dunn made it 3-0 following a scramble after a corner.
In the 40th minute Oak Apple pulled a goal back when they beat the offside trap but in the 43rd minute Powick regained a three goal lead when a cross by Johnny Jones was converted by James Gommersall for his second goal.
The second half was a totally changed Oak Apple. Their manager obviously spoke to his players and they came out with a purpose. It took just eight minutes to cut Powick's lead with a well taken goal. For the next 20 minutes play was very good from both teams. After 28 minutes the Oak Apple keeper kicked the ball out over the Powick defence for their player to volley the ball from 20 yards to give the Powick keeper no chance
At 4-3 this goal seemed to knock Powick into shape again and there was no further score.
Man of the match was James Gommersall.

POWICK 7, ST JOHNS 0
THIS was a convincing Worcester Sunday Division One win for Powick but it was St Johns who were the more dominant side from the start until the 15th minute when Phil Skilton started the onslaught with a superb header from a corner.
Powick then raced in to a comfortable 4-0 half-time lead with goals by Nick Price, Paul Ruhback and a Phil Skilton penalty after Gary Henderson had been brought down in the box.
From the restart Powick were as determined as ever and from a Lee Richardson corner Phil Skilton rose above everyone again to get his hat-trick.
Fifteen minutes later James Gommersall got his name on the score sheet after a determined run from the half way line and a clinical finish and with five minutes to go he got their final goal when he hammered home the ball on the volley from an inch perfect cross by Gary Henderson.
Man of the match was Nick Price.
