WITH ideal weather conditions for this Worcester Sunday Division Two clash, it always promised a good game.

LANGLAND SPORTS 6,

KAYS 3

After Sports' disappointing performance in the first round of the Bernard Finnegan losing 3-1 away to league rivals Perrywood Reserves, Stuart Harvey the Langlands' scorer, they were hoping they would continue their league form after a great start with six wins out of six.

All Kay's early pressure led to an opening goal for J Holmes, but Langlands responded and equalised when Stu Harvey broke clear to finish in the bottom right hand corner.

Kays numerical advantage in midfield led to another goal for the visitors when confusion in the box saw the ball bounce off many bodies before it fell to T Charleris who scored at the back post.

Again Langland equalised through some good inter-passing on the right between Steve Hodges and Sam Dakin with Dakin supplying a good ball for Rob Perrins to leap and head past the 'keeper.

The second half was dominated by Langland Sports, with the slope and a change of formation, and a goal came from inspirational full back Chris Postans who won the ball and sprinted 15 yards before releasing a 35 yard screamer.

Then a quality ball released Dave Beats to beat the left back and deliver a low hard cross which was attacked at the near post by Stu Harvey whose strike beat the keeper to his left hand side.

Goal five was a counter attack from a Kays corner, Pete Brannelly gained possession after Jason Howes had won the ball on the edge of the area. Brannelly played a neat through ball to Dave Beats who stripped the defence and shot near post beating the keeper with power.

T Charleris, who had been Kays only consistent threat, managed to hold off several challenges to finish well past Mark Newman.

Five minutes from time Stu Harvey ran from the half way line to register his hat-trick.

Man of the match was Dave Beats.

Sundays game is away to Birdport meet 9am at Dukes Meadow.
