BBC Hereford & Worcester is aiming to help the Royal British Legion's poppy CD get into the record books.
The radio station is one of many across the country playing the Legion's official record after the two minutes silence on Remembrance Sunday.
The campaign's aim is to create the greatest ever number of simultaneous plays of a song to get the charity into the world-famous publication, the Guinness Book of Records.
"Already almost 40 radio stations have put the Poppy CD on their regular playlists, and a further 50 are showcasing it with spot plays," said a charity spokesman.
"We hope this campaign will fire the public's imagination and draw further attention to the great music recorded for the poppy appeal."
The three poppy songs on the CD include No Greater Love, Unsung Heroes and the 11th Hour.
It has been written, recorded and produced by London-based male duo Saxon-Jaimes.
Dan Saxon and Mark Jaimes have played on hits for 5ive, 911, Atomic Kitten, Blue and SClub7 and have written for Alisha's Attic.
Proceeds from the sale will go towards the legion's 2001 Poppy Appeal, which aims to raise £20m for the charity.
