Harriers brought on loan man Appleby for his debut on 72 minutes with Foster making way.
Larkin missed a great chance to put Harriers ahead 15 minutes from time. Scott Stamps had a hand in the goals scored by debutants Appleby and Henriksen
Stamps laid the ball back for the striker after bursting onto Blake's superb through-pass but Larkin side-footed the ball straight at former Hereford defender Smith from 12 yards.
Orient brought on another of their youngsters Gough for Martin on 77 minutes.
New signing Henriksen was given a run-out, replacing Larkin on 79 minutes.
And the two substitutes were to make a major impact on the game.
Appleby put the visitors in front 10 minutes from time, diving to head home after Broughton nodded back a Stamps cross from the left wing.
Henriksen made it three on 83 minutes, brilliantly controlling Stamps' long pass inside the box and flicking the ball past the advancing Barrett from 10 yards.
Harriers made their final substitution with two minutes left as Clarkson left the field injured and Adie Smith took over at right-back.
