NOW that fireworks are more like the munitions raining down on Kabul than the silver fountains and penny bangers of old you would expect greater regulation and control.
Apparently this is not the case with the Police, Fire Authority and local Authority claiming they are powerless even to ensure that the organisers of these charity events have adequate insurance.
My house was rained upon last year with molten material from an event close by, causing damage. Anyone trying to have a "street" bonfire is pounced upon but others can do what they like. So - Is this a fair society?
