A DROITWICH man went into a town store to buy cigarettes, despite having been banned from the building by magistrates.
Colin Yardley was on his way home from a new job when he called in at the Safeway store.
Droitwich magistrates were told yesterday that 25-year-old Yardley had been banned from entering the supermarket under bail conditions. He admitted breach of bail.
Julian Harris, prosecuting, told the court that Yardley was arrested after visiting Safeway on Monday, November 12 ,at about 5.30pm.
"The breach speaks for itself," said Mr Harris. "He was previously arrested on suspicion of theft from Safeway. He's no stranger to this place."
Yardley, of The Parklands, Droitwich, was on bail charged with theft from the store on Monday, October 15.
"He began work on Monday and was returning home," said Barry Newton, defending.
"He lives on the other side of Droitwich from his work and he went into the store as it was on his way. I'm sure this will lead to him buying his cigarettes elsewhere."
Yardley was released on conditional bail until Friday, November 23.
