NEARLY 2,000 Droitwich residents gathered in the town centre on Sunday to honour fallen soldiers.
Families, councillors and war veterans joined in Sunday's Remembrance Parade which was led by mayor Maureen Lawley.
It began in Station Street at 10.30am and followers marched their way past Droitwich Spa Baptist Church, in Ombersley Street East, where the mayor took the salute.
It then made its way to Victoria Square for a two-minute silence to remember those who gave their lives for their country during conflicts in this century and the last.
A sea of red poppies swamped the Spa's war memorial as wreaths were laid.
The Salvation Army band played hymns and members of the Spa's fire service, Royal British Legion, Army cadets and youth organisations were out in force.
After prayers, people gathered at St Andrew's Church, in St Andrew's Street, for the final service at 11.15am.
The mayor, who is a Droitwich Spa town councillor, said: "It was a marvellous procession with more people taking part than I have ever seen before."
