AN exciting afternoon concert will be given by international performers with the Volante Strings in Pershore Abbey on Saturday at 2.30pm.
Volante Strings, led by Angela Richey, is a talented group of players who have given successful concerts in Pershore Abbey and other venues in the county over the years.
With the group will be James Oxley, an internationally renowned tenor who has performed Britten's Serenade at the Sydney Opera House and other venues throughout Australia. He has also performed at the Three Choirs Festival.
Stephen Stirling is a well-known solo horn player whose recordings of Mozart horn concertos are regularly heard on radio broadcasts, and Pavel Kotla, the young Polish conductor, who has worked as assistant conductor to Simon Rattle with the CBSO, conducting in the Millennium concert broadcast from Ely Cathedral. Later this season he will be conducting a series of concerts in Poland.
Tickets cost £7.50 (concessions £6.50) from Blue and A la Carte, both in Broad Street, Pershore, or telephone 01886 812282.
