If Redditch is not proud of its angling club, the angling club ought to feel some pride in itself.

For it holds a record no other sporting or quasi-sporting organisation in the district can boast of, it is at least a quarter of a century old.

It is stronger now, financially and numerically, than it has been at any period of its existence.

It has three nice lengths of water for the use of its members, of whom there are nearly 200, and the treasurer can meet the club's banker without trembling.

Having made such satisfactory progress in material affairs the club executive is about to turn its attention to charitable matters and next season it is intended to hold one or more competitions in aid of the Smallwood Hospital and the Nursing Association.

A proposal has also been made to form a benevolent fund.
