STUDLEY villagers could be disappointed today if Stratford Council allows the extension of delivery hours to an industrial operation.
Council officers have backed plans to extend evening delivery times by two hours on weekdays and three hours on Saturday at Sibcas Ltd, Brickyard Lane, which hires out portable buildings.
But 23 villagers have objected to the plans, fearing extra noise from lorries and also more congestion. Studley and Sambourne parish councils also object.
But Stratford Council officers said since Sibcas already parks its lorries at other sites nearby out of hours it would make little difference to let it park at its own base at the new times.
The company says its restricted hours of transportation into or out of its base is threatening the safety of its specially adapted £250,000 lorries.
Two were recently stolen because they could not be secured in the yard because of the curfew.
Stratford Council officers have recommended councillors on the planning committee back the extension.
