ORGANISERS of an award scheme for projects that have improved or preserved the look of Stourport are already considering contenders but still want more entries.
The town's civic society is seeking contestants for its Design 2002 competition.
The award scheme, run every two years, is designed to encourage and recognise projects that enhance the town's environment.
Stourport Civic Society's chairman, Pauline Annis, said five plans were being considered but more would be welcomed.
Among eligible schemes are conversion or restoration of buildings that are designed to blend in with their surroundings.
Past winners include British Waterways's refurbishment of Engine Lane Bridge and the restoration of the Edwardian house at 1 Mill Road.
Awards scheme co-ordinator, Peter Hall, explained what judges were looking for: "It could be a new building, doing up an old building - anything that improves the town and looks good and is of quality."
The award ceremony will take place on April 25 next year.
Entry forms are available from Mr Hall, on 01299 824048, from Stourport's library and civic centre or Land Oak House, Birmingham Road, Kidderminster. The closing date for entries is January 31, 2002.
