Knowle Res 0, Littleton 4

LITTLETON continued their excellent start to the season with another convincing victory.

Littleton tore into their hosts from the kick-off and set up a series of attacks and it came as no surprise when they took the lead after ten minutes.

Barry Williams found Mark Gled-hill whose precise left-footed cross found Des Cox who nodded home.

Three minutes later, it was 2-0 when Cox headed in another Gledhill centre.

Ten minutes later Matt Edwards scored direct from a free-kick from 20 yards as the visitors took complete command.

Still Littleton poured forward and went close on several occasions. However, Knowle defended doggedly but also with some pretty aggressive tackling which resulted in two bookings, as they managed to prevent further goals.

Knowle came out for the second half in a much more determined mood and had the better of the game for the first 20 minutes, without really looking dangerous.

Indeed it was Littleton who scored again. Philip Haines broke down the left, his crossfield pass found Williams who passed to Darren Reeves. He, in turn, fed the ball into a gap for Williams to joyfully thump it home.

After that play was pretty even as both sides seemed to accept that the game had been decided.

Littleton are away to Bretforton Old Boys on Saturday in the Evesham Hospital Cup.
