DESPITE the loss of two points and failing to score in a league match for the first time in over two years, Worcester Norton Ladies still stand three points clear at the top of the Midland Premier Hockey League.
They have 19 and behind are Birmingham University with 16 and Kettering on 13.
This Saturday's clash should be an interesting match with Worcester determined to keep their noses in front and visitors Edgbaston keen to improve on their seventh place to keep in touch with the leaders (Nunnery Wood 3pm).
Squad: Fiona Nash, Pam Gilmore, Tin Evans, Jane Game, Becky Handy, Kate Fletcher, Elaine Shepperd, Sadie Lapper, Becky Adams, Kate Draper, Jo Walker, Amanda Smith, Cathryn Fuge.
On Sunday Worcester Norton are looking to progress further when they visit Shrewsbury in the second round of the EHA Cup who are at present towards the bottom of Midland League Division One.
Sophie Wood and Charlene Mason will be added to strengthen the squad.
The seconds have now recorded four wins in a row and if they beat leaders, Bromsgrove, on Saturday (Nunnery Wood 12 noon) they have an excellent chance of going top of Worcestershire Division 1.
Unfortunately key player, Charlotte Tysler, dislocated a knee at a Midland's Under 17 training session on Sunday and may be out for some time.
Worcester third team need to get three points when they visit Evesham to keep them away from the Division One relegation zone.
