A PERSONAL reminder of a loved one can help light up a life in the Swan Centre, Kidderminster.
Since 1998 the annual Tree of Light has raised £8,500 to help Kemp Hospice patients living with a life-threatening illness and provide emotional and practical help for their families.
The scheme totalled £2,900 when it was launched in 1998 and the following year the figure was £3,200.
Last year the sum raised was £2,400 and the hospice hopes to break all records this year.
This Christmas, as well as having names names printed on a Roll of Honour, people can buy a personal tag from the Swan Centre manager's office.
A personal note can be written and the tag can be tied to the tree as a reminder of a loved one.
By sponsoring a light for £5, people can remember friends or family, either as memorial, or in celebration of their lives or an event.
The Tree of Light switch-on ceremony will take place at the Swan Centre on Sunday, November 25 at 3pm.
