ROYAL BRITISH LEGION: The AGM of the Rous Lench and Inkberrow branch of the Royal British Legion, which was held at The Flyford Arms, Flyford Flavel on November 6 was the occasion of the retirement from office Miss Nancy Reynolds, one of the branch's longest serving members. Miss Reynolds, who has been a member of the branch for over 50 years, has also been a member of the general and service committees and has played a vital role as treasurer, indeed she delayed her retirement from this position for 12 months to enable a successor to be found. Miss Reynolds also represented the poppy sellers at the National Festival of Remembrance held at The Albert Hall two years ago. She has agreed to continue as the poppy organiser for the branch. Following the Act of Remembrance, Mr M Mills reported on his recent visit to Mr Bob Smith in hospital, taking gifts from members of the branch. Officers' reports were given by the president Mr W Gregg, who also reported on the work of the service committee; chairman Mr P Laight, secretary Mr J Whitfield and Miss Reynolds as acting treasurer. The minutes of the last AGM were read and approved and the officers and committee were re-elected en bloc. It was noted that there were four vacancies on the general committee and the branch would be pleased to hear from anyone who would be willing to serve in this way. Mr R Hunt was thanked for organising the trolley dash which raised £1,400 for funds and thanks were also given to the hosts of the coffee mornings and to the branch officers and to members for their support at meetings.
