LEST WE FORGET: The annual British Legion Remembrance Day was celebrated on Sunday, remembering villagers who gave their lives for their country in the war at the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.
CANOE RACE: The Mercia canoe race was held on Sunday, the fastest time was 1hr 16mins and the last arrival clocked 3hrs 3mins the rowers came from as far afield as Southampton, Richmond, Worcester and Coventry and there was even a South African. Sixty three people took part the youngest being 10 and 11 years respectively.
BAZAAR: A Children in Need bazaar will be held at the Methodist Hall on Saturday to help to raise funds for the charity.
60's: On November 10 at Crawford Hall a sixties night with music by The Enticers brought back memories for those still young enough to remember the sixties.
TODDLERS: On December 20 the Gosling Toddler Group Christmas Party will be held at the Crawford Hall, 10am to noon. Tickets from group meetings.
CHRISTMAS LIGHTS: Prepare for the switching on of Bidford Christmas Lights by Jane Gurnett of Dangerfield, Casualty and Crossroads fame. Irish dancing, pig roast etc.
DANCING: Every Tuesday, 4.45pm, McCarthy Felton School of Irish dancing at Bidford Church Rooms, fresh from their dance show at the London Palladium they are now rehearsing for 'Lets Dance' at the Alexandra at Birmingham on February 10 next year. Details: 01789 778047.
