FISHING proved difficult for members taking part in the second leg of the Wye Cup.

A river at Belmont, Hereford carrying floodwater was the venue and a couple of large chub proved the only real catches of substance on a day when Dave Cosnett edged out Barry Stayte.

However, it was Phillip Seedhouse who topped the overall trophy standings after the two legs.

Members are in action on Sunday in a Severn Shield Series match at West Diglis - WDAA Waters. The draw is at 7.30-7.45am at bankside on a River Severn that is reported to be giving excellent results.

ALL pools have been fishing really well even after two early morning frosts.

Pleasure anglers have netted upwards of 30lbs on most lakes. The Top Pool has seen lots of small carp, with a 25lb specimen taken on the Bottom Pool.

Orfe have again showed up well in match weights on House Two, along with plenty of carp but bigger carp are showing on island pegs on House One with peg 29 the best at present. There are also plenty of roach and perch to maggot.

Bream have slowed down a little on the Canal but a three-pounder was taken on peg 27. Perch, roach and gudgeon are all finding their way into the nets.
