THE owners of an Upton shop were so impressed by a life-saving water purification system that they decided to help the charity behind it.

Russ and Sue Russell, of Cook's Bakery, were among around 40 people at a talk on the Aquabox, given to Upton Rotary Club last week.

The box, which can be filled with dirty water and then purified with a tablet, was developed by the Rotary Club as is sent to disaster areas. Usually, clothes and equipment are packed into the empty box, along with the purification tablets. The Russells have decided to fill one of the boxes themselves and send it off.

"I don't know whether we'll get everyone at the bakery involved or whether we will just do it ourselves," said Mrs Russell said. "But it seems like a really good idea."
