MALVERN Town are on their travels yet again tomorrow (Saturday) when they make the long trip to Shawbury Utd in the Express and Star West Midlands League Premier Division.

Town will be buoyed by successive wins against Bustlehome last Saturday and Walsall Wood on Tuesday in the League Cup, two results that extended Towns unbeaten run to six games that has seen them lose only two of their last thirteen.

Town have now moved into the top half of the table and sit just six points behind fifth placed Kington with two games in hand.

Town assistant manager Richard Anson said: "The season has now reached a crucial stage for us, with two tough Saturday away fixtures and the much anticipated local derby at home to Ledbury on Tuesday.

"We really do believe that if we can come out of these games with a good set of results we will not be far away come the end of season.

"We have already played some of our toughest away games and overall have played far more away than at home, so if we keep our current run going, who knows?"

However, Town boss Joey Rawle has selection problems for tomorrow's trip, Matt Upton sits out his last game before returning from suspension and Nick Clayton, Paul Dugdale, Sean Cotterill and Ian Stevenson will all require late fitness tests, with Dugdale and Clayton the biggest doubts.

Phil Slade is also a likely non-starter following a serious ankle injury sustained at Busdtlehome last Saturday.

Rawle will select from: Alden, Higgins, Davies, Damore, Clayton, Stevenson, Ward, Brooks, Holmans, Cotterill, Thomas, Slade, Mogford, Dugdale, Walker, Jones and Cannon.

On Tuesday Town entertain Ledbury (7.45pm) in the Express and Star Premier Division in what is sure to be a fiercely competitive local derby.

The well supported Herefordshire club are sure to bring a large number of followers to the Langland Stadium and Town assistant manager Richard Anson wants the people of Malvern to get behind their team.

"Ledbury will like nothing more than to turn us over on Tuesday and we need to make sure that they go away empty handed, but the crowd can play a big part, as we know they are bound to bring a large contingent with them."

"Also it should be a game worth seeing as they have done well since gaining Premier Divison status and they have some good players, but so do we and I am sure we will rise to the occasion."

Reserves

Town Reserves committed themselves well last Saturday, when they went down 1-0 to Midland Combination Premier Division outfit Northfield in the 1st Round of the Smedley Cook Cup.

On Saturday the Reserves are at home again when Wyre Forest visit the Langland Stadium in the Express and Star League Division1 (S), kick off 2.45pm.

Under 18's

The Town Under 18 side continued their unbeaten start to the Midland Youth League, when they despatched Southam 5- 0 last Thursday.

This Thursday they entertained Ross Town in the first round of the Herefordshire FA County Youth Cup.

Next Thursday they visit Cheltenham Town in an all important League Fixture (7.30pm).

Town have also been drawn at home to West Bromwich Albion in a highly attractive 2nd Round Midland Youth League Cup tie.

This game is due to be played w/c December 3.
