I WAS dismayed by the comments made by the Rev D Griffin (You Say, November 8).
Under the headline "Aiming to force Islam on the rest of the world", the letter was a bleak example of narrow-minded ignorance, intolerance and prejudice.
Contrary to Mr Griffin's jaded perception of Islam, the religion of millions of Muslims preaches compassion and tolerance.
I own a copy of the Koran, given to me by an Islamic friend at University. This sits in my home alongside the Bible. The two books carry the same fundamental message - love, tolerance and compassion.
Mr Griffin should learn from one of these testaments and refrain from preaching such a divisive, twisted and potentially dangerous opinion, particularly as we live in a diverse and multi-cultural society.
