TODAY I have just read the letter headlined Sickening cruelty of meat trade (You Say, November 7) and I am truly sickened, too.
Kat Macmillan, of Vegetarians International Voice for Animals, tells us what we don't want to hear.
Horses are being carried in lorries between countries in despicable conditions. Why do we allow this? We supposedly love our pets, yet there is no animal more sensitive than a horse.
They are huge characters with such a large capacity for humans to get close to, very gentle creatures that trust us. This trading has to stop and we have to stop it.
